Hi, my name is Aniello Intartaglia, I’m lucky to be a photographer because I love my profession. I would not be able to imagine my life without holding at least once a day one of my cameras.
I discovered the photography as a natural form of my actions and from that moment (around 20 years), I do nothing but look for the multitude of languages that it suggests;
I aloways get excited about the beauty that appears in front of my eyes and i can’t help photographing it.
I firmly believe that a good photo is the result of an instant shows up perfect harmony, what comes next, is only a forcing, nature, people and their actions are and will remain forever the most beautiful thing that exists and that is worth photographing.
Vision Studio is my “photographer’s shop” I am from Procida, an extraordinary island in the Gulf of Naples, but I am always ready to leave to reach anyone who needs my photographic stories.
There is something in particular that I love to photograph:
weddings, dance, theatre and people’s lives; but I also deal with advertising, sport events, and writing books.
My trusted Nikon and Fuji cameras have always been with me; I love having lens for every need, this pushes me to have a constantly expanding fleet of lenses.
The profession of the photographer requires some attention towards technological innovations, this leads me to be always aware of all the news that can make me get best results. for my clients.
I want to clarify, however, that machines are only a medium for photography, my images are born and will always be born first in my mind, because they are the direct result of my senses.
Thank you for your time, I hope i don’ let you down.

Hello Mr Intartaglia, we are calling from the editorial of live Social, a Radio punto zero program, we would like to make an interview as we are interested in your history as a professional photographer. Would you like to attend?
Initially i thought it was a joke from my friends, so i asked them in a nice way to call me back in another moment. After just 24h they contacted me back, firstly on whatsapp showing me some video and some interviews they have made to a famous writer and actor and they told me that they would do the same with me. Then they called me back on my phone and in that moment i realized that it was not a joke: they noticed me for an exhibition on the Procida prison that i made in Rome few years ago. From this exhibition they made some research on my professional career and through my website they got my contact and they reached me. After a quick exchange of contents and references on the topic, we booked a telephone appointment for the interview What can i say? It was a wonderful and an exciting surpise. Here attached you can find the link of an extract of the video interview

In Procida for about 400 years the rites of the holy werk have marked the lives of the population of the island, from infants to the elderly; in those days you can breathe an atmosphere of waiting and curiosity on the streets, everyone has something to do, run silently so everything is gonna be ready in time as the tradition says. We can say that procida. wakes up after the torpor of the winter season, to make itself beautiful and attractive for the beginning of the summer season: tourists especially foreigners, repopulate the small streets of the island .side by sode with the native population to admire the repetition of a little big magic.
Good Friday on the island of Procida is a trigger for the imagination and handcraft of a large multitude of young people, who see the result with the parade of the Misteri, reproductions in wood and other materials, mainly inherent the passion and the death lf Christ
There are traditions that do not consider the stakes of the time, they are simply handed down through the people with the same system of the human genome, they go on and change, always leaving a sort of benefit of the doubt for what it will become tomorrow, but with the same certainty that in some way, it will be repeated on time.
Good Friday Procidano, the endless day is a book published by the Municipality of Procida, where every moment of the Holy Week Procidana is exposed, with historical assessment punctually accompanied by reference images.
The book is written by the Dr Giacomo Retaggio, who meticulously describes all the moments step by step, leaving the readers stuck in the book, up to the last page, he leads an imaginary friend, who came from the continent, on this little journey through the tradition:
“Dear friend, you come from the continent on this day with a holiday spirit, you are a “furastiero “for us, have you ever wondered what the Good Friday means for a Procidano? If you have never asked yourse this and you dont do it now, you will never understand this island.
Each page of the book is enriched with images that I took from my personal archive, which currently has about thirty thousand shots, the result of ten years of work and above all passion and attachment to this event; during the years I have pleasantly matured the thought that my role as Procidano in the Procession is precisely to enrich year after year the great photo album of all over the island of Procida
The Renaissance monumental complex between past, present and future, a book written by the architect Rosalba Iodice.
The whole history of the complex is retraced: Palazzo d’Avalos was the residence of the homonymous Spanish cardinal, then royal site and finally prison structure with its approximately twenty thousand square meters in addition to the open spaces and the historic agricultural estate; it has a troubled and important history which is traced in this volume from the end of the sixteenth century to the splendor of the eighteenth century up to the shadows of the last two centuries as an indissoluble weaving to undertake and weave the possible path of contemporary development.
Everything is documented in a meticulous way, correlated with all sorts of both technical and photographic documentation.
The final part of the book is related to a large section of images, divided into various moments, each was entrusted to a photographer who tried to represent those spaces with his sensitivity.
My part is “The Years of Abandonment”, a collection extracted from my exhibition Distrust.
The book is complete from every point of view, and above all it is printed very well with great attention to shape and details, it is a volume that finds its rightful place in all the well-furnished bookshops.
In the Christian tradition, ex-votos are a very important component that have always given great energy to the faith of everyone. In a place with a great seafaring tradition as Procida, relying on the blessing of the devoted saint to remain unharmed to the dangers of the sea is, and it was a well-established custom, as evidence of this, dozens of pictorial representations depicting scenes of great marine danger , are in many churches on the island. It is added to this a special tribute to the Abbey of the Terra Murata area, a destination for thousands of tourists from all over the world, dedicated to the Archangel protector St. Michael. Through my images the breathtaking rooms of the most expensive and sacred place for the community are told in the pages of the book, which more than anything else has lived the history of the island and has always blessed the departure of its children and especially in greeting the return. Art, tradition and history in a small volume written in two languages.
In 2012, with the help of Prof Nico Granito and Sommelier Salvatore Trapanese, a very particular initiative started: Ristorarte. Weekly works of art by each participating artist were accompanied by special menus which somehow managed to evoke the characteristics of the works under consideration. The protagonist was photography and above all the comparison between very disparate and stimulating visions. This book is the faithful and authentic witness of a great moment of art on the island of Procida
A precious volume in form and above all in contents: a vast collection of images, mostly mine, and the rest by concession of the curia or from private archives; a photographic research work fed by the meticulous and very interesting indications of the author Prof Stefano De Mieri, which lasted more than a year, who collaborates with full-bodied technical and historical relationships, revealing a society, the one that goes from the 14th to the 19th century, very lively and careful to perceive the trends of the capital of the Kingdom at that time, Naples. Paintings, statues, stucco and sacred vestments, a large assortment of works that would attract curiosity and interest even to non-experts: several specimens are accompanied by unpublished stories and details that also increase their value. A real investigation into the rediscovery of valuable works of art kept in the twelve island churches.
Published in 2016, this volume is a container for various forms of art, such as photography, goldsmith’s art, painting and fashion, all conveyed under the heading of “Procida Style”; Menia Ambrosino, Donato Coscione, Emanuela Colantonio, Andrea Ambrosino: young talents who appear constructively and decisively in the world of fashion, who design and create clothes with an innovative cut and at the same time respecting the typical Procida taste , with colourful materials, worn by strictly Procida models. All this is accompanied by the skillful goldsmith’s creation of jewels made in limited edition by the goldsmith artist GianFio. Most of the images in the book are mine; the set is obviously Procida, especially I wanted the Corricella, a small corner of the world as exciting as the beauty of a sunset.
In its second edition, L’isola nell’isola is certainly one of the novels that more than any other volume descends into the depths of the collective imagination of Procida, putting in the spotlight a place so little known at sight but at the same time a visceral part of the historical memory of the island, the Procida prison. A novel that tells, through imaginative figures, facts that really happened in the prison, seen and narrated through the sight of the doctor, as well as the author of the novel, Giacomo Retaggio. In the second edition, a collection of photos taken from my photographic exhibition Diffidenza set up by the artistic curators of Arteoltre in Rome at the Caffè Letterario in April 2011, in the middle of numerous attentions by the national press and the art sector, were added. To date, both works remain the most tangible tribute to an immense structure still with an uncertain future for itself and for the community.
